Good Stuff: Butter Bell Crock

Photo

I discovered this when we were rented a house in Provence a few summers ago. Every morning we woke to a glorious spread of perfect baguettes, cheeses, charcuterie, Nutella, jams and, best of all, deliciously spreadable butter.

If you hate scraping cold chips of butter on your bagel, the Butter Bell Crock is for you. It keeps butter at room temperature for up to 30 days in a clever crock that is placed inside a jar with a bit of water in it. The design apparently reflects outside heat while insulating and cooling the butter. However it works, it works! We use ours every morning and, every morning, a liitle part of me thinks I'm in Provence again.
