Ingredients
- For the batter:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- Pinch of salt
- Per drink:
- 2 oz dark or spiced rum
- 6 oz hot apple cider
- 1 tbsp spiced butter batter
- Cinnamon stick and whipped cream for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Make the batter: Beat butter, brown sugar, spices, and salt until fluffy. Store in jar in fridge up to 2 weeks.
- 2. For each drink: Place 1 tbsp batter in a heatproof mug.
- 3. Add rum and stir to melt butter.
- 4. Top with hot apple cider. Stir well to emulsify.
- 5. Garnish with cinnamon stick and a dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately.
