Singapore Sling

Created at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore circa 1915. A gin-based tiki classic with cherry liqueur, Bénédictine, pineapple, lime, and grenadine. Complex, layered, and served in a tall glass — one of the most famous cocktails in the world.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz London dry gin
  • 1/2 oz cherry liqueur (Heering)
  • 1/4 oz Bénédictine
  • 1/4 oz Cointreau (or triple sec)
  • 1 oz fresh pineapple juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 oz grenadine
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Club soda to top
  • Pineapple wedge, cherry, and lime for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Add all ingredients except club soda to a shaker with ice.
  2. 2. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
  3. 3. Strain into a tall Collins or sling glass filled with ice.
  4. 4. Top with a splash of club soda.
  5. 5. Garnish with a pineapple wedge, cherry, and lime slice on a cocktail pick.
