Dark 'n' Stormy

Bermuda's national drink — dark rum floated over ginger beer with lime. The name comes from the stormy appearance of dark rum cascading through golden ginger beer. Goslings Black Seal is the traditional rum. Simple, classic, and refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz dark rum (Goslings Black Seal)
  • 4-6 oz ginger beer (not ginger ale)
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
  2. 2. Add lime juice and ginger beer, stir briefly.
  3. 3. Slowly float the dark rum on top by pouring over the back of a bar spoon.
  4. 4. Do not stir — the dark rum should cloud the ginger beer like a storm.
  5. 5. Garnish with a lime wedge. Serve with a straw.
