A minty gin cocktail from Prohibition-era New York — gin, lime, mint, and simple syrup. Often described as a gin mojito. Refreshing, herbaceous, and perfect for summer. Popular at the Southside Sportsmen's Club on Long Island.

Ingredients
- 2 oz gin
- 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 3/4 oz simple syrup
- 6-8 fresh mint leaves
- Mint sprig for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Muddle 6-8 mint leaves gently in a shaker with simple syrup.
- 2. Add gin and lime juice with ice.
- 3. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
- 4. Double-strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- 5. Garnish with a mint sprig.
- RICKEY VERSION: Skip the syrup, build in a Collins glass, and top with club soda.
